Oskara Xiann

Oskara, a Twi'lek Bounty Hunter, is one of the pre-gen characters of the Star Wars Edge of the Empire RPG game.

"Oskara was always quick, clever and lucky enough to stay ahead of the press gangs... but her sister Makara was not. When Makara was nabbed by Aqualish thugs, Oskara had to act fast to keep her sister out of the mines. She offered her own unique services to the gang leader instead, claiming to be an experienced bounty hunter. Suprisingly, her first job for the gang went well and Oskara soon thrived under the tutelage of a veteran bounty hunter named Gyax. She was called on to perform more and more duties for the spice mining gang, and as long as she did well Makara was safe.

But then Oskara was "loaned out" to a Hutt gangster on Tatooine named Teemo. And things started to come undone. Teemo paid her quite well, but in the course of her bounty-hunting work for the Hutt she uncovered a plot against the Ryll-mining gang on Ryloth. The Hutt was going to seize their territory... and there would be no more guarantees of safety for Makara. Oskara decided to team up with Teemo's favorite gladiator, a Wookiee named Lowhhrick, and one of his best pilots, a human named Pash. Alongside her new companions Oskara has sent a warning to her compatriots on Rhylo and is now fleenig Teemo's revenge.

Oskara seems jaded and cynical at first, having seen much of the worst the galaxy has to offer at a young age. She is careful not to get too attached to anyone or anything. She is a professional bounty hunter and takes a serious approach to her work. focusing on results rather than any emotional considerations."

EDIT: I decided her to have Xiann as last name; a commonly given name meaning, "spider" in the Twi'leki language.

Brom

Brom the Ranger started as a 3rd level NPC in my LL/AEC sandbox campaign in Blackmoor (Greyhawk) now on hold. He was a guide for the party during the firsts sessions and then, when they grew more powerful, he returned to his homeland.

He must be in his late 20's or early 30's, but you can't exactly tell because of his weathered skin. He keeps his beard short and carries his long oily black hair in a plait. He wars a leather armor with studded shoulders and carries a longsword, a longbow and a hunting spear.

That was it until +Gabriel Harley set up a FLAILSNAILS LL/AEC game for 3rd level characters, set in his world called Evenoria. It was his first game via Google+ Hangouts and everything went really well. I enjoyed it a lot and am looking forward to the next session.

The Hairy Wizard Formerly Known As Ian The Minstrel

Yes, I couldn't come up with a suitable name, so that's it. He's the survivor of my DCC funnel for the "Return to the Crypt of the Lizard King" adventure, which you can read about here and here on +Edgar Johnson blog.

He's a chaotic cultist devoted to the Metal Gods of Ur-Hadad, which you can read about here, on +Adam Muszkiewicz blog, who is now DMing the "Slaves of the Silicon God" adventure.

He wears a purple robe embroidered with golden tentacles, wears the Helm of the Lizard King and is very hairy, thanks to the mercurial effect of 1'' of all body hair growth every time he casts Sleep. Lately he's been experimenting the effects of powdered space tentacle. Will he get a ticket for CUI (casting under influence)?

We're in the city of Ur-Hadad, after exploring a ruined temple in the jungle, that was inhabited by some curiously intelligent ape-men. Let's see what the Metal Gods and +Edgar Johnson has prepared in the near future, when we explore the  "Mysterious Temple of the Serpent God"...

Thanks to +Bear Philippe for the picture.

EDIT: He became Formerly Ian after all the corruption he suffered through different adventures: hairy, eyes of different color, legs of different length, wobbly legs, sores and more.

EDIT2: He became Formerly Formerly Ian after magically healing all corruption and reverting to his original form.

EDIT3: He appeared on the back of the second issue of the Metal Gods of Ur-Hadad zine drawn by +Wayne Snyder. It was also in a tshirt and stickers.

No sympathy for the devil

Having drawn the Flames* from a Deck of Many Things at the Wampus Country campaign, Gimli went to the Stump-Witch to get some insight on the subject.

Stump-Witch: "I can see you've a devil's eye upon you, Gimli of Geoff. I can divine the devil's identity - although not a true name of power, of course - for a price. Will you exchange a favor for a favor, brave earth-kin?"

Gimli: "Sure, wise old lady. I swear on my clan's honor I'll fulfill your request if you provide me the identity of this devil and how can I defend myself from it."

Stump-Witch: "Listen closely, bearded one. The devil you have offended is quite implacable - you have had a hand in the destruction of his scaly lover, and, hearing of this, has placed a bounty upon your head. Many creatures of the various hells know your name and your scent, Gimli of Geoff. How best to defend yourself? I cannot say - perhaps you could seek out this devil and slay him, of course... but in the meantime, a show of force might dissuade those diabolic bounty-hunters, leaving you with but one devil's hatred. Surely that is a gain? Go with your elf-blooded companion [Sir the Fist of Uther] and sail upon dark and forgotten seas. There will you find the loose end of a string - the other end of which is held by he who would slay you. Hew close to kin to increase your chance of survival in the coming weeks, earth-blood."

"As my information was meager, so too my request. Gimli of Geoff, I charge you thus: find ye a good church or abbey, young and struggling, and aid it in some measurable way, even if it costs you personally. The path you tread in the coming nights is dark, and you must light torches along the way."

Gimli: "You've got a deal lady", and spits his hand and extends it to the witch.

The Stump-Witch has quite a grip - and a bit of a smirk.

Later in the HMS Apollyon, at a bar in Sterntown, Gimli came across a Sea Witch, with kelp for hair and a ragged shawl. He consulted her about the devil issue. The witch took a bag, shook it and dropped some fish bones on the table. After staring at the bones for a while she screamed "Seek the great Leviathan!", before running out of the place.

He looked forward to kill the bug-eyed Baatezu lord named Mhalchris, just to prove this devil that nobody messes with this dwarf, but the way the events unfolded prevented such encounter.

We'll see how this develops in the FLAILSNAILS universes...

Nikola-T

Nikola-T is my character in the Anomalous Subsurface Environment (ASE-1) campaign run by David Williams via G+ hangout.

Nikola is a scientist, a new class from the Henchmen Abuse blog that you can see here, that has chosen Wired Reflexes (+1 Dex) as his first Scientist Power and Enhancement. He lives in the city-state of Denethix, that is ruled by  Feretha (a somewhat indifferent, and quite reclusive, insane wizard tyrant). It's a relatively good place to live anyway.

He forms part of the occasional salvage parties that scour the land, trying to reclaim ancient artifacts and books. Also, of caravans that sometimes travel to the coast to gather salt, which is a scarce and expensive commodity.

He belongs to the Cult of Science, that believes Science as a literal god, one who performs miracles through formal physical processes. That is why he has his clothes dyed white, the color of the cult. As protection he wears a flak jacket also dyed white and carries a knife.

Antii Durniksson

He's my first character for the Lamentations of the Flame Princess RPG campaign (DM: Joethelawyer) that we play every other Friday through G+ hangout..

Antii Durniksson son of Durnik son of Eino, the village brewers, lives in one of the many Thelian islands that dots the Northern Ocean. He is a strong and healthy lad, although not very brave, of the Polar Bear tribe. He participates in the warrior-like activities more due to peer pressure and the fear of losing face, than his own free will. He prefers to keep a low profile and enjoys life outdoors on his own, hunting and foraging. He also likes tinker with things, like simple mechanisms and spring traps. If he has the chance, he'll also attempt to lighten the inebriated patrons of the tavern.

He just wants to leave this boring island and live all the tales his grandfather told him about foreign lands. Although the last events on the island, a hobgoblin raid and the discovery of underground ruins, have brought him some wealth and attracted some attention on his person.

Leonardo Messina

A new "Wave" campaign begins...

[...] set in a hybrid of the Ultima setting during the Age of Darkness (the period of time when Ultima 1 through 3 CRPGs were set.) [...]

So, new campaign, new character right? Wrong...

[...] to start the game, you do not need to chargen, just yet. If you have an idea of what kind of character you want to play, that's OK, but for now, all I need is a description of what your character would look like in the "real" world, not a fantasy world. I know you are giving me the "WTH" look, but I am asking for your indulgence. Imagine what an alter ego of yours might look like that you wish to take to Sosaria... but you are not there yet. Rather, you are in a world much like our own, much in the same year. And please do give him/her a "real world" name. :) [...]

With that said, here's my (not yet) character:

Name: Leonardo Messina
Age: 20
Description: Of Italian descent, he's 6'1" tall, slim and lanky, has short wavy black hair and dark grey eyes.
Studies: He's studying a B.S. (business) and also works in the family business (Liberty Locksmiths).
Hobbies: He likes running. He was in the high school team of cross country and now also enjoys parkour.

The others (not yet) characters are:
  • Eric Dawson (Alan) is 6'2", Caucasian, 180 lbs, blond hair, blue eyes. He's 21 years old and is finishing up his final year of his Bachelor's degree in Mathematics at the local university.
  • Freddy Mancini (Joseph) is 5'6", with dark skin, greasy black hair pulled back into a pony tail, devious brown eyes, a wicked smile, pot belly from to much pasta. He's 32 years old and wears a cheap suit.
  • Trevor Kraft (Reese) is a mathematics professor at a small local community college. Athletic, he has obviously spent time in the gym. He helps coach his school's track team, being a runner himself. He has the lanky build that most runners do, tall and thin. His Irish heritage is quite apparent in his appearance. He (unfortunately) has the green eyes and ginger hair associated with his ancestral homeland.

Love to kill monsters more than people (but he'll do it if he has to).
5. You're a pro and you know you're a pro because you always "do this".
Always get the job done whatever it takes.

Skills:
Kill - 5

Orbilar

Thanks to Chgowiz for setting up this wave with an AD&D 1e/OSRIC game. I lurked it with interest for some days and was lucky that a spot opened. Now I'm part of this experience of playing an RPG on Google Wave. The campaign is called "The Dark Ages" and you can find more information about it here. Here's the character I've created for this campaign:

Orbilar (his name is a homage to RJK's Lord Robilar) is a young human fighter from the highlands north of the port city of Skalfier. At the age of 15 he joined the retinue of a minor lord and learned the use of weapon and shield, mounted combat and close-combat formations. Now, 4 years later, with the Darkness advancing on the world of men, and the forces of his lord disbanded, he seeks in Skalfier an escape from an ominous future.

Sagard D'Abernon

This character was created for an Ars Magica 5th Ed. campaign set in the medieval England of the year 1220. (DM: Pipe)

Sagard, born in 1197, is a young magus of House Jerbiton that has recently passed the certamen. He comes from a noble family originary of Normandy. He and other young sodales are to establish a new covenant in the dangerous frontier between England and Wales, now in conflict after the death of William Marshall, 1st Earl of Pembroke, in 1219 and the raise of Prince Llywelyn of Wales.

Sagard's sodales:
  • Iagno Vasilievich of House Tremere (Alex W.)
  • Pence Lambert of House Flambeau (Eduardo B.)

Wakenabe Matsuo

This character was created for a 3.5e Oriental Adventures campaign we usually play on Fridays every now and then (DM: Ejbs).

Matsuo is a ninja/yakuza of the clan Wakenabe from the city of Okami on a mission to replace a scroll in the castle of the daymio of Mura-Sabishi. This mission was successful. The new one is to infiltrate the enemy army and obtain their battle plans. So far so good...

The other members of the ninja party are:
  • Katsuhiro, a human ninja/bu-shi (Javier R.)
  • Myuri, a human ninja/wu-jen (German H.)
  • Sasaki, a human ninja/wu-jen (retired) (Martin F.)
  • Takeshi, a human ninja/shaman (Daniel R.)

Meknes

This character was created for a D&D 3.5e campaign which we play whenever I don't feel like DMing. (DM: Rous).

Meknes is a half-orc from the city of Hardby. He traveled to the city of Greyhawk and joined the Adventurers Guild. There he was paired with other adventurers to form a group. He is known as "Sitting Orc". I'm playing this character in a campaign called "Greyhawk Mayhem".

The other members of the party are:
  • Cyllan aka "Camila", a female human cleric of Olidammara (Fernanda B.)
  • Gunnar aka "Cold Feet", a male human barbarian (Federico V.)
  • Laodaren, a female elven ranger (Daniela M.)
  • Ramis aka "Piltraf", a half elven sorcerer (Daniel R.)
  • Seth, a human rogue (Javier R.)

Owly Firesight

This character was created for a TMNT adventure (DM: Gerardo T.).

Continuing with non-D&D worlds, somehow some TMNT books fell in our lap so we ran to get our dices. ;-) What we liked most about it was the martial-arts combat system.

I don't have Owly's character sheet now, but he was an owl (you've already guessed that) specialist in all kind of weapons and explosives, also a skilled helicopter pilot (I loved my AH-64 Apache!) and martial artist.

Thargus Dorobuj

This character was created for a RIFTS adventure (DM: Martin F.).

A couple of RIFTS manuals fell in our hands and we decided to give it a try. At that time I guess we played almost any setting we put our hands on. :-)

Thargus is a young unprincipled Earth human native Wilderness Scout who hates the Coalition and all demons. He has no cybernetic implants.

He's the guide for a group of adventurers:
  • Iotist, a scientist (Javier R.)
  • Risc, a line walker (Eduardo B.)
  • Kasac, a phsycic (?)
  • Zendur, a cyber knight (?)

Jurgen Von Hohenzollern

This was a character for a GAMMA World adventure (DM: Gerardo T.).

Playing GAMMA World was somehow different from what I was used to play, but I enjoyed it very much.

Jurgen was a 21 y.o. pure human from the Cambol clan of Hardsville (OH, United America). He was 1.95m tall, 90 kg, with short blonde hair and light blue eyes.

The other member of the party were:
  • Deklo McCabe, a humanoid with 2 brains that could polymorph and multiplicate. (JavierR.)
  • Chip, a humanoid with chamaleon and flying powers. (?)
  • Eddie, a humanoid like Deklo but with one brain. (?)
  • Rexvan Erol, a pure human. (?)
  • Tigris aka "Thundercat", a mutant with chameleon powers. (?)
  • Bluck, a mutant Eagleman. (?)
  • Sigfried Von Hohenzollern, a pure human (Jurgen's brother) . (Rodolfo P.)

Yozun'Dur

This character was created for a AD&D 2e adventure (DM: Luis M.).

I guess by that time we were all reading R. A. Salvatore's Drizzt series, and wanted to play an evil party, so everyone rolled a drow.

I made a fighter that wielded two short swords (specialist, two-weapon style, ambidexteriry and a short sword of quickness). They were outcasts from their city and made their way through the Underdark and somehow (?) ended in the surface world.

Argyle Avalon

This character was created for a high-level (17th) homebrew campaign (DMs: Ejbs & JRR).

He was a wealthy noble Fighter/Cleric of Alastor (we even created a god for him!) who owned land and a castle. Long time ago, he blamed himself for the death of his wife, so he hung the sword and turned to religion. Many years later he his forced to wield it again to fight evil.

I guess I chose that name after the movie "Braveheart". Even the adventure was influenced by that movie since Argyle had the title of Lord of Falkirk. ;-)

Branwyn

This character was created for an AD&D 2e campaign (DM: Rous).
This group of characters adventured in many diferent parts of the Flannaes, from the Cold Marshes in the north to the infamous Osson's Raid in southern Medegia. We had a lot of fun with this group. The Silverleaf brothers were really chaotic and some of our doings are still remembered: torturing a tortured kobold, using the bard as bait to "fish" sahuagins, ventriloquism with Jame's dead corpse, cutting kenku's hands to infiltrate their lair and much more!. ;-)
The other members of the group were:
  • Cedric Silverleaf, an elven fighter (Federico V.)
  • ??? Silverleaf, an elven cleric of Elhonna (Pedro C.)
  • James, a human psionicist (Diego O.)
  • Branwyn, a half-elven bard (yeah, yeah, I know, ANOTHER bard) (Gabriel P.)

Tröy Tryggvasson

The last campaign ended with most of the party dead (some were resurected) so the DM (Marcelo B.) took some time off. After a while he returned with the promise of change in his DMing style, so we rolled characters once more. This time the setting were the frozen lands and seas of the north barbarians but, although we had fun, the ending was the same.

Since we had the Viking Campaign Sourcebook, I chose to play a fighter/skald from the city of Djekul in the Frost Barbarians. The rest of the adventuring party were:
  • Harn, a human fighter (Javier R.)
  • André Törn, a human cleric of Phaulkon (Sebastian R.)
  • Steintorn, a human fighter (German H.)
  • Drot, a human fighter from Ratik (Eduardo B.)
  • Konrad, a human fighter (Daniel R.)
  • Ringlas, an elven fighter/magic-user from the Timberway Forest (Rodolfo P.)
  • Tröy, a human fighter/skald (Gabriel P.)
Since childhood he always felt curious about the sagas and legends of his people. Cheerful, brave and proud, Tröy became an able seaman and fighter, always inspiring his comrades in battle with song, word and action.

Rigil Kent Draco

After playing thos few sessions with Finloss, my DM (Rolf) offered me to join other group he was DMing and that were already playing through the Temple. Since I had no other group to play I accepted the offer.

The group was fromed by:
  • Doronomin, a female human fighter (Rous)
  • Morlas, an elven thief (Federico V.)
  • Celeborn, a human fighter/magic-user (Luis M.)
  • Edwin, a human paladin of St. Cuthbert (Diego O.)
  • Draukur(?), a human barbarian (Santiago H.)
  • Rigil Kent Draco, a half-elven magic-user/cleric of Hanali Cenalil (Gabriel P.)
Originay from the Highfolk region, Rigil was handsome, intelligent, wise, well built and agile. He always traveled in his light warhorse (Baudelaire) with his two faithful dogs, Hernani (watch dog) and Victor Hugo (war dog). After defeating the hordes of the Temple he became Elder of the land of Veluna and Furyondy.
